Alper Kanyilmaz

Coordinator of ConstructAdd, assistant professor in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He has been a principal investigator in several EU research projects, cooperating with the steel construction industry and worldwide research institutes. He is working with data-driven methods to digitalize and automatize a low-emission built environment.

Ali Gökhan Demir

Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, since 2021. His research interests include laser-based manufacturing processes including additive manufacturing, welding, and micro machining with an emphasis to the light-material interaction mechanism in temporal, spatial and wavelength domains. He has authored over 100 papers in refereed international journals and international conferences.

Barbara Previtali

Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. She leads the SITEC- Laboratory for Laser Applications of the Politecnico di Milano and is co-chair of the AddMe_Lab, the laboratory for metal additive processes. She has authored or coauthored over 100 papers in refereed international journals and international conferences and several international patents.

Carlo Andrea Castiglioni

Full Professor of Structural Design in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He is a well-known expert of stability of structural members, fatigue and fracture, seismic behaviour of steel structures. He is author or co-author of more than 200 technical papers in the field of civil engineering.

Ingrid Paoletti

Full Professor of Building Technology at the Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering Dept (ABC) at Politecnico di Milano. Her research activity is characterized by a constant interest in deepening the role of technical innovation in architecture with a particular emphasis on advanced construction methods.

Monica Lavagna

Associate Professor of Building Technology at the Architecture, and expert in environmental assessment (of the whole building and of materials/products), Green Rating Systems (e.g. LEED, BREEAM), Life Cycle Assessment of buildings/materials/products and construction systems, Circular Design strategies for buildings.

Martina Chierici

She is a structural engineer, and a PhD candidate in Politecnico di Milano, working on the structural integrity assessment of hybrid joints between additively manufactured and conventional steel components. Experimental and numerical analyses are the main means for her study aiming to provide AM design tools at an industrial scale.

Alessandro Menghini

He is a Civil Structural Bridge Engineer, and PhD Candidate working on Fatigue damage assessment of steel structures and infrastructures. He has expertise in FEM modeling and experimental monitoring data analysis.

Benno Hoffmeister

Leader of the structural dynamics, steel, timber and frp group, has extensive experience in the field of material characterization and actively involved in the development and certification of innovative structural elements.

Damian Händeler

Scientific assistant at the Institute of Steel Construction at RWTH Aachen University. Experienced in CAD-software as well as in experimental and numerical investigations of steel structures.

Francesco Morelli

Assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering, has more than 10 years of experience in participating to RFCS project focused mainly on the development of new steel and hybrid steel and reinforced concrete structural system, with an high specialization in earthquake engineering aspects.

Silvia Caprili

Associate professor in the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering has participated and coordinated several RFCS projects on the development of both new steel and concrete structural systems and elements. She is an expert on the cyclic behavior of corroded steel, has published several works on this topic and coordinated a RFCS project.

Agnese Natali

Post-doc at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering with a strong experience on the design and the seismic assessment of steel structures.

Ilchat Sabirov

Head of research group on physical simulation of metallurgical processes. His research group is active in the areas of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) for industrial applications and joining of dissimilar materials. He has published over 100 research articles in the area of metallurgy, which have received over 3500 citations.
